America – China Trade Wars
The US president, Donald Trump, initially imposed tariffs on $50b worth of Chinese exports in June, after tweeting in March that “Trade wars are good, and easy to win”. However, the US were met with retaliation from the Chinese.
Now Mr Trump is preparing to enforce tariffs on a further $200b worth of imports from China, which once again will most likely be met, by a counterattack from Beijing.
The world is currently on the brink of a major trade war between the US and China, and it looks unlikely to end anytime soon.
