Supply Chain Academy enrols 200th degree apprentice
The Supply Chain Academy is very proud to announce that the number of delegates enrolled on its Supply Chain Degree Apprenticeship has now passed 200. Surpassing this milestone in such a short time since it was launched in 2018 is a clear confirmation of the apprenticeship’s value and popularity, attracting supply chain professionals from a variety of household names including Airbus, AstraZeneca, BAE Systems, BT, Henkel, Uniserve and Pepsico.
The apprenticeship programme is run in conjunction with Leeds Trinity University and delivered through the Supply Chain Academy’s training arm, CP Training. It was developed in response to business demand for highly skilled supply chain professionals and was the first leadership degree apprenticeship in England targeted at this industry.
January 2020 had seen one of the Royal Mail Group’s apprentices becoming the hundredth delegate to enrol onto the programme, demonstrating a real acceleration in interest in the ground-breaking work-based qualification achieved – this despite the inevitable challenges posed by the global pandemic.
The programme covers all supply chain activities, such as planning for supply and demand, logistics, warehousing, technology, procurement and financial management. Our experienced supply chain professionals and work-based tutors not only provide the theory and ‘best -practices’, they also provide real life examples and personal stories that are not found in any textbook.
Neil Roll, Operations Director of the Supply Chain Academy explains: “We place a lot of emphasis on applying the learning through work-based projects. This enables apprentices to create relevant and ongoing business benefits right from the start of their degree. In the background we also deliver an extraordinary amount of support to help our apprentices apply the learning and write up how their company has benefited.”
Paul Stone, Managing Director of the Supply Chain Academy commented: “We have a great team of supply chain experts who provide real business insights on the degree. It makes a big difference having someone who has worked in the supply chain deliver practical tips and advice in a way that helps the apprentices learn, harness and apply this best practice.”
