Major Brexit Event Success
In conjunction with the IOD (Institute of Directors), the Supply Chain Academy hosted a major Brexit focused dinner last week, which was enthusiastically attended by numerous UK supply chain leaders and experts.
Speaking at the major industry event was Uniserve Group Commercial Director Gary Cobbing and the IOD’s Head of EU Trade and Policy – Allie Renison – otherwise known in the UK media as ‘Miss Brexit’.
Gary talked through best practices in supply chain and procurement, providing relevant examples of how buyers currently operate and how they can perform better leading up to 2019.
He outlined common industry mistakes that UK business can learn from and how supply chain led technology will play a major part in Britain’s future.
This was demonstrated by how the highly sophisticated One World platform is helping to shape and optimise supply chains for Uniserve Group clients.
Allie discussed global trade for the UK post Brexit and offered unique insight and well-thought opinion on how the government’s negotiations are really going.
She outlined a number of potential scenarios for UK/European trade, highlighting exactly why businesses are not transitioning fast enough, before taking questions on the subject from the floor.
Commenting on the occasion, the Supply Chain Academy’s Managing Director – Paul Stone (above left) said “It was great to see so many industry leaders having positive input to such an important subject, which in turn made the evening a wonderful success”
“We would like to thank the IOD, and Allie in particular, for contributing to one of the most insightful discussions since the Brexit vote materialised”.
