And The Winner Is…
Uniserve Group were delighted to have been announced as winners at the Global Freight Awards last night in the category of Employer Of The Year 2018.
The trophy was collected by Uniserve HR Director and Supply Chain Managing Director – Paul Stone – at the Royal Lancaster Hotel ceremony, and was awarded for the ongoing development of our apprenticeship program, which led to the creation of the world’s first supply chain degree apprenticeship.
Arranged annually by The Lloyds Loading List, The Global Freight Awards honours individuals and companies who have achieved high standards in the freight and logistics industry during the previous twelve months.
Now in its 22nd year, the event attracts a large gathering of industry experts and Uniserve were proud to receive an accolade in such an important category.
Uniserve have internally developed their own apprenticeship programme and are proud to have had some of their own people amongst the first professionals enrolled to the supply chain degree apprenticeship this year.
Uniserve Group, supported by the Supply Chain Academy and Leeds Trinity University, chaired the employer’s group that have driven and created the standard for the supply chain qualification. The trailblazer group included some of the UK’s most prominent supply chain leaders, as well as many SME’s, universities, colleges and supply chain professional bodies.
Paul Stone commented “During this process, it has been great to see our collective efforts coming to fruition for both businesses and individuals. To be recognised with such a prestigious award is the icing on the cake”.
Our difficult goal has always been to bring a much needed standard, backed by qualifications, to a very diverse industry. Through the degree apprenticeship, and in conjunction with everybody in the employers group, we believe we have made a major step in the right direction”.
The Supply Chain Academy are currently enrolling for January 2019 and beyond, for further information please check out their Degree Apprenticeship page HERE, or contact Alex Mortimer on 01708 259450 or am@supplychainacademy.org.uk.
