First Learners Start SCM Degree

This week has been very exciting at CP Training and the Supply Chain Academy (SCA), as the first group of learners have started the much sought after Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship. The group were enrolled after the standard for the degree was approved by the ‘Institute of Apprenticeships’.
The initial team of aspiring supply chain leaders – employees of the same business – were enrolled into the Supply Chain Academy’s programme collectively, after deciding that our business led tuition and insight aligned perfectly with their specific supply chain objectives.

In addition to this group, we are currently enrolling learners to start their degree apprenticeship from September of this year and from January 2019.
Supported by the Supply Chain Academy and Leeds Trinity University, our parent company – Uniserve Group – chaired the employer’s group that have driven and created the standard for this qualification. The trailblazer group included some of the UK’s biggest supply chain leaders, as well as many SME’s, universities, colleges and supply chain professional bodies.
The work-based supply chain degree is suitable for all ages and requires only 15 days per year off-site learning, completion of which, over a four-year period, results in a full Bachelor’s degree. As approved apprenticeship providers any degree apprenticeship training booked through us can be offset against your apprentice levy.

Paul Stone – SCA Managing Director (pictured above) – commented “Its great to see our collective efforts coming to fruition for both businesses and individuals. Our difficult goal has always been to bring a much needed standard, backed by qualifications, to a very diverse industry. Through the degree apprenticeship we believe we have made a major step in the right direction”.
“During the process of obtaining approval, we have been ensuring that CP’s courses have been redesigned to meet the standard, thus enabling us to be ready to accommodate learners immediately”.
The Supply Chain Academy and Leeds Trinity University are currently enrolling for September 2018 and January 2019 and will be able to meet additional demand as required.
